Deliveroo is one of the world’s best known food delivery platforms, and behind the scenes they have a huge team of employees working to build and operate the technology that enable Deliveroo to simultaneously complete hundreds of thousands of orders right across the globe.

The challenge

Deliveroo approached Pixel Fridge to deliver a best-in-class, multilingual careers website that aligned with their new Employer Brand. The site needed to be a destination for candidates to learn more about Deliveroo and provide an intuitive job-search experience. Full integration with their recruitment platform, Greenhouse was required to streamline the recruitment process. An easy-to-use Content Management System (CMS) would enable the Deliveroo team to create good quality, flexible content as well as creating new market sites with translated content whenever required.

The work

Our Discovery phase kicked off with some candidate profiling. A workshop with key stakeholders helped us identify our audience types and and their priorities for the site. We worked together to create journey maps, giving us a thorough understanding of how candidates moved through the process from application to onboarding.

The new site structure was agreed, and based on our Discovery findings we built some black and white wireframe prototypes. This enabled the Deliveroo team to quickly see and feedback on the proposed site layout, content structure and user-journey. Following approval on these we moved onto UI design, developing coloured prototypes that reflected the updated employer brand for both desktop and mobile.

A key requirement for the new site build was full integration with Greenhouse, Deliveroo’s job management platform. Deliveroo wanted the full application experience, from searching for the perfect job, all the way through to sending the application form, to take place on their site.

However they also needed a new careers site launched as quickly as possible so that they had a new site that reflected their updated brand. Therefore we prioritised the most important part of the user experience and Greenhouse integration for Phase 1 which launched in June. Phase 2 work continues but an update is expected soon.
